A house in Schoemansville and a spa at a tourist attraction in Skeerpoort burned down in the past week.

A lapa used as a spa at Tangaroa Strawberry Farm in Skeerpoort went up in flames after lightning struck it on Sunday night.
“By the time firefighters arrived, the structure had already burned down. All we could do was douse the smouldering material. We are just grateful that there were no injuries and our home and other structures were not affected,” said Jan Kruger, owner of Tangaroa Strawberry Farm.
On Monday night a house burned down in Monene Street in Schoemansville. HEMS fire unit Station 21 responded to two fires in Hartbeespoort on Monday night. A house in Schoemansville was left in ruins. The house went up in flames during the two-hour electricity rotation. The fire in Ifafi fortunately only destroyed material in the backyard,” said HEMS spokesperson Leandre Spies.
