Hartbeespoort, Brits and surrounding areas are all currently without electricity due to a major Eskom power outage.
“According to Eskom, they have lost three major power supply lines coming in from Broederstroom to Hartbeespoort, Brits and surrounding areas. Eskom said it was facing serious power outages due to last night’s thunderstorms. They are working on identifying and locating the problem,” said Madibeng councillor Elsa Lourens.
The Madibeng Municipality warned in a statement that residents should treat all power installations as live throughout the outage period.

It is unclear when the power will be restored. Kormorant will publish updates as soon as new information becomes available.
