An abandoned mom and her four pups were saved from a dump near Brits last week.

According to Ilka van der Merwe of Hartbeespoort Animal Welfare Society (HAWS), the owner of an upholstery shop near Hebron discovered the mum and her pups on a dump site during heavy rains last week. He constructed a temporary plastic shelter for the little family to try and keep them dry, and then contacted HAWS.
“We fetched the mom and pups over the long weekend and brought them to safety at the shelter. They all seem healthy and the mom accepted our human help easily. They are not in a bad condition, so it is presumed that they were dumped at the dump,” Ilka said.
Mom and pups will be vaccinated and will soon be ready to find loving homes.
