NSRI Hartbeespoort is getting ready for the festive season.

“We’ve been doing major training throughout the year to plan and prevent,” Arthur Crewe, Station Commander from Station 25 Hartbeespoort Dam, said. The station anticipates high activity volumes on the dam, where thousands of water users gather. “In the last months we’ve had a barge rescue where people were evacuated and then we also assisted with a major fire in Kosmos, so we’ve been tested on all our training already for December,” he said.
“Low water levels currently add to the challenges, but we are ready for whatever comes along.”
