Trojan Om Die Dam Ultra Marathon takes place this Saturday, 15 March. This is the largest inland ultra-marathon in South Africa, offering a 50km Ultra Marathon, 21km Half Marathon and a 8km fun run.

Start information

The 50km race kicks off in Scott Street at the Hartbeespoort High School.
The 21km race starts at Necsa Gate 3 on the R104.
Both start at 06:00 and finish at the high school.
The cut-off for final runners is at 13:00.

Parking

Parking will be available at the Hartbeespoort High School, on the open land opposite the school, as well as at churches in Marais Street.
Parking for the 21km athletes will be available at the start venue adjacent to the R104 near Necsa Gate3.

Road closure

Scott Street from the Hartbeespoort Snake & Animal Park to the Damdoryn crossing will be closed from 05:30 to 09:00 to all forms of transport.
Route accreditation will be provided to residents and businesses in the area. Pedestrians will have access.

Buses

There will be buses available to transport 21km athletes from the Hartbeespoort High School to the 21km Start on the R104, as well as buses to
transport any athlete back to the start after the race. No cost involved, just a valid official race number.
The first bus leaves Hartbeespoort High school at 03:30 and the last bus 05:00.
Please make sure you are on time.

Winners prizes

The winner of the 50km ultra marathon receives R25 000. Second and third place winners receive R12 500 and R7 500 respectively.
The winner of the 21km race receives R5 000.

50km

The 50km race starts at 06:00 from Hartbeespoort High School. Athletes will run via Marais Street, Schubert Street and through Ifafi to the R511 over Saartjiesnek to the Platinum N4 highway for approximately 9km and then turning back, again over Saartjiesnek, through Meerhof, Ifafi and Schoemansville back to the starting point.

21km

The 21km race starts at 06:00 from Necsa Gate 3 on the R104. Athletes will run over the Platinum N4 to the R511 and follow the same route as the 50km to Hartbeespoort High School.
Parking will be available at the start.

8km

The 8km race starts at 06:45 from the Hartbeespoort High School to the Hartbeespoort Dam wall and back. This is the biggest fun run in South Africa with 2 500 athletes that will take part.
