The Om Die Dam committee this week handed over donations to local charities from money raised during the ultramarathon.
Each year the Om Die Dam Ultra Marathon along with the Hartbeespoort Marathon Club supports a number of charities within the Hartbeespoort vicinity. This year the beneficiaries were Meerhof School for handicapped children, House Lesedi, an orphanage for abandoned babies, Harties Feral Cat Rescue and the Hartbeespoort Animal Welfare Society.
A total of R40 500 was donated to the four charities. Meerhof School received R13 000, Lesedi House R12 500, Harties Feral Cat Rescue R7 000 and HAWS R8 000.

Stanford Wasarireuhu of Haws received the donation for the animal shelter.

Kobus Windt (right) received the donation on behalf of House Lesedi.

Meerhof School’s donation was handed over to headmaster Kobus van der Merwe (right).
