Still no news of kidnapped Brits teenagers

Two weeks after two Brits teenagers were kidnapped by armed men, there is still no news on their whereabouts or developments in the case.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Amanda Funani said the police would not comment or release any information about the case at this stage. “It is a very sensitive case and we refer the media to our initial statement,” she said.
Zahraa Mohammed (17) and Hafiz Mohammed Bataviya (19) were kidnapped outside a primary school in Primindia in Brits on 6 March around 07:00 by three heavily armed men. The police said at the time the two teenagers were on their way to school in Hartbeespoort when their white Mercedes was rammed by a red Audi A3, forcing them to stop. “Allegedly, two armed men got out of the Audi A3 and ordered the teenagers to get into a white Volkswagen Polo GTI that was driving behind the Audi A3. The suspects also got into the VW Polo GTI and fled the scene with the victims. The victims’ Mercedes Benz and the Audi A3 were found at the scene,” Funani said.
Police request anyone who has information that can assist in the investigation to contact the station commander of Brits Brigadier Ellen Emmanuel on 082 449 7447 or CrimeStop South African Police Service on 08600 10111.
