Spiking incidents increase again
After months of no spiking incidents on the N4, robbers have returned and more spiking incidents on the N4 towards Pretoria were reported.

A spiking on the N4 last weekend.
“Spikings have again been reported since 19 January but luckily in only one case did a robbery take place,” said Kobus Grobler, founder of the N4 WhatsApp spiking emergency groups and part of the Aequitas Security group and task team that has been patrolling the N4 to prevent spikings.
“We have had only one spiking incident in the De Wildt area. The others took place closer to the Onderstepoort area. In one case three people in a vehicle were overpowered by robbers after they drove over spikes. Two people managed to flee but the robbers caught one of the passengers and robbed him of his belongings. He also managed to get away without being injured. During the other incidents, we were on the scene soon after emergency messages were placed on the spiking groups and the motorists were assisted before they could come to any harm,” Grobler said.
