Well-known Lieutenant Colonel Eric Brand from Hartbeepoort police station participated in the 2024 Comrades marathon and finished the 87km in a time of 10:58.
“It was a hard route with a lot of uphill running and walking. The last 5km was very hard running, I wanted to finish in less than 11 hours and only had 35 minutes to do it,” he said.
Approximately 356 South African police members participated in the Comrades this year.
