Elsabe’s art goes down to the bone
Artist Elsabe Pienaar with the impressive murals at the medical centre.
Well-known artist Elsabe Pienaar has tackled an art project with a difference. She had to get down to the bone during an art commission for physiotherapists at Hartbeespoort Medical Centre.
“It was a lovely and fun project, but I had to study anatomy books again,” Elsabe laughed. “I have never painted a skeleton, and on top of that, the painting had to fill the wall! The size was quite a challenge and the fact that it had to be medically correct. However, I loved the challenge and with my husband’s help, it turned out quite something. I really enjoyed it.”
The impressive paintings can be viewed at the medical centre in Melodie.
